Running Line Tension Monitoring System

Running Line Monitors (RLM) are used in cable Laying and winch operations to electronically monitor and show the load on a rope being sent out or in by a winch/hoist. In any engineering units, optionally they monitor the length of line out and line speed along with direction.

The device consists of rollers which are parallelly attached to the rope, this setup generates a tiny deflection in the rope due to the tension on the rope. As a result, the force delivered to the load cell varies as the rope tension changes and weight data is shown on a digital indicator. The device can accommodate different sizes of rollers that can change according to the diameter of the rope/cable being used.

CableSafe Running Line Tensiometer is designed to measure the tension on running leader ropes or wire ropes that are used to pull fiber optic cables and other conductors thru conduit and cable troughs. When used in the field, it will allow the user to monitor tension with exceedingly high levels of accuracy, which ensures that rope/cables do not become overstretched or break.
